Protein is essential for balanced nutrition during pregnancy and the postpartum period. But, if you’re a busy mama, getting adequate protein during pregnancy and postpartum can be tough. Protein Smoothies (with the delicious Ritual Protein Powder… [ritual prenatals are my fave too!]) are my favorite way to incorporate protein into my pregnancy diet or postpartum diet!

This Vanilla Strawberry Protein Smoothie that I make for myself ALL THE TIME is so yummy and perfect for healthy weight gain during pregnancy or healthy postpartum weight loss. It’s one of my favorite healthy pregnancy meals or snacks and is jam packed with healthy lactation boosting postpartum nutrition too!

Protein powder for moms is a great way to make sure we’re getting good sources of protein in our diets. I make sure I’m using safe and healthy protein powder during pregnancy and baby safe protein powder while breastfeeding.

1 Scoop Ritual’s Essential Protein
2 cups strawberries fresh or frozen
1 banana fresh or frozen
2-4 Dates
1 cup milk (I used Cashew)
2 tablespoons flax seed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup water (if necessary)
